Plate 15 offers the following for consideration:
1) a pope holding the 'keys to kingdom'
2) a butcher knife in his right hand
3) a dog or wolf demanding the keys
4) a king's crown laying at his feet
It appears that this pope is ready to carve up the kingdom, while at the same time the wolf/dog wants the keys to the kingdom.
This pope is Nicholas V, who crowned [King] Frederick III emperor at Rome in 1452. The wolf is antepope Felex V.
Felix clung to his title several years but finally submitted in 1449 to Nicolas V.
