The Creation of Astrology
|
At the very origin of creation, as per the first chapter of Genesis, there were Gods called the Elohiym, which basically means, gods & goddesses in the plural; magistrates; angels; or royal messengers (from a higher source than man), who say that in the beginning, the earth was a dark entity without form and void. According to ancient scriptures, the gods are responsible for all creation, albeit, today we know this is not true, because they were merely space travelers, and not the ultimate force in the Universe that held all knowledge and creation in their hands - for it is the Great Spirit alone, who holds such power and dominion. However, since so many believe the Bible is the actual word of the Creator, let's suppose that the book of Genesis is speaking the truth, and let us search it's words, looking for the origin of star-logic, aka, astrology.
According to many ancient scriptures - Sumerian, Babylonian, Egyptian, Assyrian, etc., the gods said, 'Let there be light and there was light. The Elohiym called the light day, and the darkness they called night. And the evening and the morning were the first day." On this first day of creation the Elohiym made the Sun to give daylight to this virgin, dark and void earth. In the case of what came first, the egg or the chicken, we can see the Sun was created after the earth. The earth, which had been created previously had no daylight, as darkness hung over it's face. With the creation of light on the first day, Day and Night fell upon our planet earth. On the second day of creation the heavens were made, and on the third day the Seas and dry land, with abundant vegetation appeared.
"Then the Elohiym said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth, and it was so. And the Elohiym made two great lights. The greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. They made the stars also. And the Elohiym set them in the expanse of the heaven to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness, and the Elohiym saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day."
As we see on the fourth day of creation, the Elohiym made the sun, moon, and stars to be rulers. Astrological rulers. The creation on this fourth day was not to cause day and night all over again, as some would suppose, for day and night had already been created on the first day. This fourth day of creation was giving these spheres of light dominion as rulers. A ruling energy over signs, times, and seasons, the Astrological kingdom of governing power and dominion had come into existence. The earth was now set up with a divine system of Astrological order. Hereby came the laws of the Universe - Astrological, Scientific, Mathematical, Electrical, Magnetical, and Spiritual. Each 'light' ruling according to a divinely programmed pattern and ordinance.
According to the Bible, the ruling kingdom of stars, planets, and influencing aspects, were most definitely a part of creation on that fourth day. Today, knowledge of their governing ordinances, patterns, cycles, dominion, and rulership, has been falsely replaced with man's egotistical and self-made laws and ordinances. Evil beasts upon the face of the earth have made the created kingdom of ASTRO-LOGIC hidden, un-godly, and obscure. And the saddest thing is they don't even know what they do, nor do they know what the term 'ungodly' means.
"Remember the Creator back in the earth's youthful days before evil days were here and before many years had gone by. Back before the sun, constellations, moon, and stars had become dark (made obscure or hidden by ignorance)." Ecc. 12:1-2
Just because the beasts have proposed to replace the Creator's Astro-logical dominion, does not mean that it cancels out the ordinances and rulership of the heavenly lights. Beastly greed and lust for power can never cancel out the ordinances of ruling lights. All good wisemen (Astrologers) know the kingdom of Astrological ordinances continue to reflect their patterns and rule, never slacking or tottering off their mark of divine authority.
"How can man be of any worth to God who made Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the other constellations of the south, all of which doeth great things past finding out, yes, and even more wonders without numbers." Job 9:9-10
It would seem that Job knew all about the Astrological Kingdom. Indeed there is no end to the great things these stars, planets, and constellations, do to influence life on this planet. They have been programmed to perform their specific tasks and life on earth goes on toward it's ultimate end, with or without man's approval.
"The Lord has counted the number of the stars and He calls them all by their name, according to their character." Psalms 147:4 It would seem that David also knew the lights in the heavens had individual patterns and dominion.
"The blessings (goodly influences) from the Lord who created heaven and earth; even life through the ages, comes from the mountains of Zion." Psalms 133 & 134.
Mountains of Zion Mountain (#2042 in Strong's Concordance) = to loom up, a mountain or a hill, a prominent influence Zion (#6723-26) = conspicuousness, a monumental or guiding pillar, a sign, a waymark, a place that is barren, arid or solitary, set apart from the rest. 'From places of solitary abandonment, barren wildernesses, come guiding pillars of support to serve and rule us. This support, which appears to come into view indistinctly, as through a mist, assumes great influence, with or without our individual acknowledgment.
The Mountains of Zion is a term for Astrological Influence. The rulership, aspects, patterns, and influence of the planets, stars, signs, and constellations, make up this Mountain of Zion.
The aspects (degrees in distance from planet to planet), represent, in Biblical terms, blessings and curses. There are good, easy influences, and there are harsh trying ones as well. If we refuse to use the 'tools' that are heaven-sent, we are more or less on our own to handle the harsh 'grand crosses', or the difficult 'T' squares of our lives. When we have divine favor we may be blessed with beneficial 'grand trines', as well as other blessings of harmonious reflections. The harsh aspects one receives at birth, although lasting a lifetime, can be dealt with in a more pleasant manner, once we learn what is required of us. If a person was blessed with several 'grand trines' (blessings), they could miss their greatest opportunities in life if they were not aware of them to begin with.
Again, turning to the book of Job we hear the Elohiym speak to Job about the influence of the constellations:
Here we have the Lord of the Hebrew Scriptures speaking to Job as if there was ordinances and patterns in the heavenly zodiac, called the Mazzaroth. So, it wasn't the Lord who was offended by the heavenly science of Astrology - that abuse came with man's religions. After all, religions wanted all eyes focused on them - not on the Creator's logic of the stars."Can you (Job) stop the sweet influences of Pleiades (a constellation)? Can you bring forth Mazzaroth (the Zodiacal signs) in their correct season? Or can you guide Arcturus (a star) with its sons (moons)? Do you know the ordinances of heaven? Can you set the dominion of the sky on the earth?"
Josephus, the first century Jewish writer, wrote regarding the descendants of Seth (Adam's son):
"They were the inventors of that peculiar sort of wisdom which is concerned with the heavenly bodies, and their order. And that their inventions might not be lost before they were sufficiently known, upon Adam's prediction that the world was to be destroyed at one time by the force of fire, and at another time by the violence and quantity of water, they made two pillars; one of brick and the other of stone. They inscribed their discoveries on them both, that in case the pillar of brick should be destroyed by flood, the pillar of stone might remain and exhibit those discoveries to mankind and also inform them that there was another pillar of brick erected by them. Now this remains in the land of Siriad to this day."
This is taken from book 1, chapter 2, verse 3, of Josephus' writings.
A famous Jewish Rabbi once said the following about astrology:
Levi ben Gershon ("Levi son of Gerson"), better known as Gersonides or the Ralbag (1288-1344), was a famous rabbi, philosopher, mathematician, astronomer and Talmudist. He was born at Bagnols in Languedoc, France.
Gersonides believed that astrology was real, and developed a naturalistic, non-supernatural explanation of how it works. In Philosophies of Judaism, Julius Guttman explains that for Gersonides, astrology was:
Gersonides believed astrology to be a science that predicts events according to set laws of nature (albeit, a different set than the ones we are used to.) He also believed that a person who has perfected his thinking could interact with the laws of nature through the active intellect. Gersonides thus thought of himself as creating a rationalist and non-supernatural theology.founded on the metaphysical doctrine of the dependence of all earthly occurrences upon the heavenly world. The general connection imparted to the prophet by the active intellect is the general order of the astrological constellation. The constellation under which a man is born determines his nature and fate, and constellations as well determine the life span of nations....The active intellect knows the astrological order, from the most general form of the constellations to their last specification, which in turn contains all of the conditions of occurrence of a particular event. Thus, when a prophet deals with the destiny of a particular person or human group, he receives from the active intellect a knowledge of the order of the constellations, and with sufficient precision to enable him to predict itss fate in full detail..... This astrological determinism has only one limitation. The free will of man could shatter the course of action ordained for him by the stars; prophecy could therefore predict the future on the basis of astrological determination only insofar as the free will of man does not break through the determined course of things.
The creation of Astrology is seen in Genesis - its 'good old days' are remembered in Ecclesiastes, therein written by that man of great wisdom, 'The Solomon' himself. Astrological influences are acknowledged by God to Job; written of by David, and by Josephus. Many Jewish Rabbis have acknowledged the patterns and dominion of astrology, [however, some do not]. If we are to believe any of these writers, then the knowledge of star-logic, and the rulership of the heavenly lights, has been around since Adam's time.
You may be wondering why the word 'Astrologer' isn't used more often in the Bible. If Astrology reveals patterns and heavenly rulership, why not more about it in Scripture? The reason is simply this: These wisemen were not called 'Astrologers' in Biblical scripture. They were called 'men of God', 'one who walked with God', 'seers', 'prophets', 'wisemen', 'walking in the truth'; but more often then not, they were called 'men/women who walked with God'.
The term 'Astrologer' is found only nine times in the Old Testament, and all nine times the word has been incorrectly interpreted. In the book of Daniel, 'Astrologer' = 'Ashshaph' (#825-826 in Strong's Concordance), means: 'a conjurer, to practice enchantments' - this is what the word 'ashshaph' means, not someone who studies the cycles of the heavenly stars. The dealings of a conjurer or enchanter is not the functions of an Astrologer. The word 'astrologer' is incorrectly implied in this chapter by the interpreters of the Bible. An Ashshaph sounds more like one engaged in black magic or witchcraft.
In chapter 47 of Isaiah, verse 13, we find the following: "Thou (Babylon) art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee." Chapter 47 is directed at Babylon, the beastly destroyer of the Kingdom of Judah - then a physical kingdom, and in the end times Babylon is also to be destroyed as a spiritual kingdom (false religions). Nothing would be able to save Babylon from destruction by God - not even their Astrologers (who would also burn as stubble with the rest of Bablon). The word 'astrologer' (habor #1895 in Strong's) is of undetermined origins and is estimated to mean a horoscoper, or (astro) loger.
Astrology is not fortune telling. A good Astrologer's findings are based upon rigid mathematical and scientifical findings that are observed from the cyclic ordinances of the heavenly lights that were given rulership on their day of creation. The correct Hebrew words meaning an Astrologer would be:
chazah shameh (#2372 & #8064). Chazah, meaning: to perceive, to read; and Shameh means: the heavens. To read the heavens, to see, to behold, and to realize patterns and cycles in the heavens, i.e. the lights and their rulership - i.e. the kingdom of heaven - the Mazzaroth.
Many people will blindly dispute the legitimacy of Astrological influence and rulership, but who are they to disagree with God, Solomon, David, Job, learned Rabbis, Leonardo Divinci, Josephus, and many other intelligent and wise people?
Until next Sunday,
May the Spirit of Light and Truth be with you,
